So it has been quiet here.
Chapter 11 of 1st Nephi is one of my favorites. As I read it this week I was reminded of what a great prophet Nephi was - he was able to see the coming of the Lord centuries before it occurred. I love his descriptions.
I keep hearing through various grapevines that many are reading - for which we are so pleased. Josie was telling us that yesterday, after reading somewhere about Moroni, Ryan said that if he could see Moroni, he would high-five him. Don't we all feel like that about all of the great Book of Mormon authors.
Thanks for making this such a success.

I am attaching a copy of the reading schedule. I tried to lose my copy.

The Atonement
On Sunday, I had the rare opportunity to go to Relief Society for the first time in years. Our lesson was on the Atonement, and it was really great. I just wanted to share a little insight from a quote that was shared that touched me. It said, "He died not for men, but for each man. If each man had been the only man made, He would have done no less." - CS Lewis
I Just love this because it makes the Atonement so personal. He died to save us all, but more importantly, He would have still done it if I (or any of us) was the only one. He died to save me. It makes me feel closer to Him, makes me want to try harder to be like Him, and makes my love for Him deeper and stronger. It also helps me realize that each day I need to take advantage of the Atonement and the suffering the Savior did for me in order to repent. Even though my mistakes aren't huge, they are mistakes and still need to be reconciled, and I know I cannot do it alone. For that I am eternally grateful; because with out my Savior, I would not be able to live again with our sweet family, and trust me, I do not wan to miss out on that!! :)

Choose to Obey
One of the most powerful lessons of First Nephi is that we will do better when we obey.
As many of you do not have the Church News, there was a great editorial entitled "Choose to Obey". It tells of a very interesting incident in Sierre Leone. I attach a link to the article here. I love that First Nephi challenges us to be obedient.
And Grandma Becky and I are so happy that so many are reading - and writing. We love the Book of Mormon.

PAPA T IS THE MAN
Wow, Austin! Talk about laying me low! Can't a man miss a day or two in writing on the blog. Here is Lehi being chastised by Nephi. You know how to do it. But thanks for keeping us all in line.
We are excited that so many are serious about this scripture challenge.
Lizzie was over on Saturday and drew a picture of one thing she learned as she and her mother were reading, the story of the tree of life, the great and spacious building, and the filthy river. Notice it is not blue, but brown.
So on Saturday many attended the baptism of our sweet, wonderful Gracie. A photo of that also is attached.
I am reading! How about you!
Love to all.
